And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
It's a cold, rainy night here in New Orleans and Cory is making me watch a super weird show on Netflix (in his defense though, I made him watch Don't F*** with Cats on Netflix last week, so payback--- if you haven't watched this, you're missing out on a crazy serial killer series), I figured I'd update you on two of my favorite things in life---- Ms J, our quirky neighbor and Stella, our sweet pup!
What are neighbors for?
Last week, we had a bookcase delivered and neither of us were home, so FedEx just left it on the porch. I texted Cory after he got off to see if he remembered to take the boxes off the porch when he got home.
Cory: They weren't on the porch. Ms J got them. and she isn't home.
Brooke: How do you know she grabbed them?
Cory: She left us a note. [It reads: Took your package off the porch. Don't want some one to take them. They at my house. 2 packages. Ms Julie]
Brooke: PLEASE tell me she used my notebook paper to write this!
She didn't. She apparently saw the boxes on the porch and got the neighbor next to her to drag them into her house.

The next night, Cory was sitting on the front porch and Ms J came outside to talk to him. He told her that he's off for the next week and excited about being off of work. She then told him she's off until after the New Year, and she told him "I plan to be fu**ed up every day until then."
She then gave me her number so I can text her if we ever need her to grab packages off the porch again. Saturday, Cory and I headed to Franklinton to celebrate Christmas with his family and we, of course, had two packages delivered. I text Ms. J to ask her to get them. After these two messages and two phones calls and one voicemail, the boxes made it into her home, safe from porch pirates. I just got them back from her, and brought her a Budweiser to say thanks. I just want to help her stay "fu**ed up" this holiday season.
Stella is going to be Insta-famous!
This week, Cory decided to finally create an Instagram for Stella, and ya'll, it's real fun. New Orleans is such a dog friendly city, and we have been able to bring her multiple places with us. Sometimes she's a good pup and sometimes, she tries to attack other dogs for even thinking of looking her way. She's had quite a few adventures on her first week of trying to become a social media influencer, and I'd love for you to give her a follow. You can find her at drinkingwithdog on Instagram. It's just a fun way to take multiple pictures of Stella while bribing her with popcorn to show you all the fun things she's getting to do in the city, and with her friends.
Well, that wraps things up for us. I'm now super lost in this show and have no idea what is happening, but I'm sure after 10000000000 questions and I've frustrated Cory, I'll catch up.
Happy Sunday!
